Kering Foundation Commits to Child Protection by Signing a National Charter

On July 2, 2025, Kering Foundation signed the national Charter “Companies mobilized for protected childhood”, alongside IM'PACTES and the Accor Group. This collective initiative mobilizes the business world around concrete actions for the prevention, inclusion and support of young people under the care of France's child welfare system.

On July 2, 2025, Kering Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to children and young people in care, by signing the Charte d’Engagement des Entreprises Mobilisées pour l’Enfance Protégée (Charter for companies committed to child protection) alongside 26 other companies, under the high patronage of the French Minister of Labour, Health, Solidarity and Families.

Supported by the IM'PACTES organization, of which Kering Foundation has been a partner since 2023, and the Accor Group, this charter represents a major step forward in the mobilization of the private sector to offer a chosen, secure and fulfilling future to children, adolescents and young adults in care.

A response to a social emergency

In France, nearly 400,000 young people are under the care of child protection services, most often as a result of violence or neglect. These traumas have long-lasting consequences for their health, their school careers and their professional integration. Fewer than 5% of them go on to higher education, and almost half of homeless young people aged 18 to 25 come from child protection services. Without early care, children who are victims of violence see their life expectancy reduced by almost 20 years.

Faced with this situation, the Charter calls on companies to make concrete and lasting commitments to:

  • facilitate access to employment and training,
  • mobilize appropriate human and material resources,
  • promote an inclusive culture,
  • strengthen prevention and visibility

Kering Foundation's commitment: to mobilize and support prevention

By signing this Charter, Kering Foundation reaffirms its commitment to act in two priority areas:

  • mobilizing human resources, through internal information and awareness-raising initiatives,
  • strengthening the prevention of violence, by supporting specialized associations.

The signature of this agreement is a continuation of the partnership between Kering Foundation and IM'PACTES, notably through the creation of the first child support center. This innovative facility will offer coordinated, personalized healthcare services, long-term support for children in care, and specialized training for healthcare professionals, educators and social workers.

A growing collective dynamic

By joining the 26 other initial signatories of the Charter, Kering Foundation is participating in a collective dynamic aimed at changing business practices in favor of inclusion. This pioneering mobilization forms a solid foundation destined to expand, with the ambition of federating a growing number of companies around this essential cause.
