Since 2016, Kering Foundation has supported the Maison des femmes de Saint-Denis, financing its construction and development. Through a one-stop shop, this facility offers multidisciplinary care—medical care, psychological support, legal and social assistance—to women experiencing violence and their children.
True to its mission to combat violence against women since its creation by François-Henri Pinault in 2008, the Kering Foundation is now partnering with Mélisa Godet's feature film to raise public awareness of this important cause and promote an exemplary model of care that has proven its worth. Through the lens of its team of caregivers, played by Karin Viard, Laetitia Dosch, Oulaya Amamra, Eye Haidara, Pierre Deladonchamps, Juliette Armanet, and Jean-Charles Clichet, the film recounts daily life at the Maison des femmes in Saint-Denis. The professionals there welcome, care for, and listen to women experiencing violence, from all walks of life, and help them rebuild their lives.
"From our very first meeting with Dr. Ghada Hatem, we were convinced by the Maison des femmes model to help victims of violence. By supporting the film inspired by this model, we hope to help raise awareness of this vital cause, the Maisons des femmes, and all the professionals working alongside them," said François-Henri Pinault, Chairman of Kering and the Kering Foundation.
In 2021, at the Generation Equality Forum, François-Henri Pinault announced the Kering Foundation's commitment to provide €5 million in funding, alongside the French government, for the rollout of 15 women's shelters in France, based on the model established in Saint-Denis. To date, seven Maisons des femmes have opened their doors across the country, thanks to the support of the Kering Foundation.
