Our Distinctive Approach

Kering foundation

Kering Foundation is distinctive in that it works jointly on violence against women and violence against children.

While initiatives to address these issues often remain fragmented and siloed, the Foundation firmly believes that bridging these efforts—particularly in the context of domestic violence—will accelerate progress toward a world free of such violence.

We know, from our partners and from leading research, that violence is passed from generation to generation. Children who experience or witness violence are statistically more likely to encounter it again in adulthood—either as victims or perpetrators. Also, experiencing violence has profound long-term effects on a child’s health and well-being.

While outcomes are not predetermined, the risk factors are clear, making early intervention critical. By investing in skilled non-profit organizations and quality initiatives, we can break the cycle and create lasting change so that women and children experiencing violence can survive and thrive.
