Preventing gender-based violence and sexual abuse of minors and offering support to victims.

  • In 2022, 17.8% of calls to the French National Helpline for Children in Danger were made by minors.
  • “Every three minutes, a child is a victim of incest, sexual assault, or sexual abuse.” (CIIVISE)
  • Each year, 160,000 children are victims of sexual abuse in France. (CIIVISE’s 2023 report)
A 360-degree approach aimed at 10 to 14-year-olds.

Kering Foundation supports En avant toute(s) in developing a 360-degree approach aimed at stepping up prevention of gender-based violence and the sexual abuse of minors and offering support to victims through:

  • Premieresfois.fr, the first website for preventing abuse designed for 10 to 14-year-olds. Premieresfois.fr is a space for asking questions, sharing information, and engaging in discussions created specifically for minors. Topics such as abuse, love, friendship, family, and sexuality are evoked in order to help pre-teens and teens to break taboos around talking about abuse and to increase awareness of violent and abusive behaviors. The site offers a secure, anonymous chat helpline which is accessible Monday through Saturday and where young people can chat with professionals trained to respond to their questions.

  • In-person workshops on gender equality and sessions to raise awareness of abuse and how it can be prevented which take place in schools and other youth organizations and are designed for children eight and up. These sessions on prevention aim to challenge participants’ individual and collective perceptions of relationships between girls and boys; to encourage them to reflect, as a group, on ways to combat discrimination, inequality, and abuse; to teach them to express their ideas and listen to others’ ideas; and finally, to make them aware of the resources available to them if they ever witness or experience abuse. The length of the sessions and the vocabulary used are adapted to the children’s age.

  • The chat helpline on Commentonsaime.fr provides a sympathetic ear and professional advice.

  • Articles and posts published on social media raise awareness about abuse of minors among young people and their parents. Resources are shared through influence campaigns.

Bolstering efforts to prevent gender-based violence and sexual abuse and supporting underage victims.

Since 2013, En avant toute(s), has fought for gender equality and an end to violence against young people, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

The association works with young people to deconstruct gender stereotypes, to prevent sexist behaviors, and to promote healthy and egalitarian relationships. It also trains professionals who work with minors, as well as educators and corporate teams to identify gender-based violence and sexual abuse and to respond appropriately to such situations.

The association offers a secure, anonymous chat helpline (designed specifically for children aged 10 to 14) on the Commentonsaime.fr site, which can also be accessed from the Premierefois.fr site. On the helpline, a team of professionals provides help and advice, and recommends various solutions and organizations to users in function of their needs.

What sets En avant toute(s) apart is that it focuses its efforts primarily on young people and minors, with the goal of preventing abuse as early as possible and promoting healthy relationships.
